Group Your Class makes groups in your browser. There is no account and the app does not upload the names you enter.
Updated October 8, 2026.
What stays in your browser
Roster names and attendance are processed on your device. When you choose Save class, the roster is stored in this browser’s local database, called IndexedDB. Later changes need saving again. Group Your Class does not put names in page addresses, send them to a remote service, or include them in analytics.
Saved rosters belong to this browser profile and site address. They do not sync between devices or browsers. Another person using the same browser profile may be able to open them. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or changing the site address can make saved rosters unavailable.
What a website host receives
Loading a hosted website sends ordinary requests for its pages and files. Its hosting provider may receive information such as your IP address, browser information, request time and requested page. Roster names are not needed to load Group Your Class and the app does not attach them to these requests.
This version has no advertising scripts, analytics scripts, third-party fonts or account sign-in. It does not use tracking cookies. If those features change, this page must change with them.
Files, clipboard and printing
When you choose Copy, CSV, Back up class or Print, the output can contain names. A downloaded class backup or CSV group list is an ordinary file, not encrypted storage. Clipboard content may also be available to other software or devices through your own system settings.
Choose where you save or paste those names. Review the destination before sharing a file, and remove copies that are no longer needed.
Removing a roster
Open Saved classes and delete a class to remove that saved copy. To remove all saved data for Group Your Class, clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Neither action removes files you downloaded, printed pages or text you already copied elsewhere.
For classroom use
Enter only the names or labels you need for the activity. The tool does not need dates of birth, student IDs, grades or other personal details. Follow your school’s own rules for the device, roster and any output you share.
